I dont know about you but Im a sucker for primary sources about Gettysburg and the Civil War so I thought Id share this valuable resource with my most favoritest group! ;) For out-of-copyright/ out-of-print books I found MANY primary resources and downloaded them for FREE! you can go to the below website. File types available are for eBooks (kindle, iPad...etc.), PDF, HTML and other file types. These books were OCR scanned mostly from original copies of the books: archive.org (link below) -Set the search type to texts -Search authors, book titles or subjects (LOTS on Gettysburg) and find digital copies for download. -select file type from left side of screen. Some of the Civil War titles I have downloaded free to my kindle include: -Three Months in The Southern States (Lt. Col. Arthur Fremantle) -The Passing of The Armies (Maj. Gen. J. L. Chamberlain) -Appomattox (an address written by Col. Charles Marshall of Lees staff) -Paroles of The Army of Northern Virginia at Appomattox -Histories of The Several Regiments and Battalions from North Carolina -Corporal Si Klegg and His Pard (Wilbur F. Hinman; 1887) (A Satirical and very humorous novel written about Army Life!) -A Diary From Dixie (Mary Boykin Chestnut) -From Manassas to Appomattox (James Longstreet) -Nurse and Spy In The Union Army (S. Emma E. Edmonds) ....and MANY others... ENJOY!!
