I dont know how a country intends to progress in truth and in deed by always avoiding to discuss her past. This is the joy and happiness of foreigners who exploited us. The modern generation dont know anything about their atrocities; hence, see them as their messiahs not knowing that the hyena has no love for the lamb except to devour it with its bones. I chose to remember Biafra; the lost children who were airlifted to Sao Tome, Gabon and Cote DIvoire and the millions that died of starvation. ALL the players and stakeholders involved in the war committed errors. I cant fight for them. I cant defend them without pointing to their flaws. They were humans BUT we have refused to move forward because we are known to slaughter objectivity on the altar of prejudice and sentiment. Heroes are humans not spirits. When heroes become gods and are ascribed the infallible status by the youths even if they destroyed the entire humanity; then that society, nation or country will continue to progress in error and conflict. This is the reality of Nigeria nay Africa today. The [educated] youths have refused to show signs of seeking for REAL and GENUINE renaissance. I strongly believe we have to protect our nations and civilisations (Yoruba, Igbo, Kikuyu, Gbe, Ewe, Fante among others) BUT we must endeavour to avoid jaundiced views and strive to be balanced. All these nations are different parts of the African body. They cannot develop equally because their features are different but they must be independently cooperative. They will also fight like the tongue and the teeth but not to annihilate one another unlike what we have witnessed so far. NB: {Hausa and Fulani nations are deliberately excluded because they have almost lost everything associated with their heritage and are so proud of the Arabian heritage than anything indigenous.}
