I dont know how many of you have heard about moving IT stuff into the cloud but this takes the cake: wdc/en/products/products.aspx?id=1140 (I recognize that Facebook will probably use the fact that I am linking to this page as some kind of data point. I hope at least its a negative one.) Once upon a time, an external hard drive used to back up your data was called an external hard drive used to back up your data or, God help us and protect us, Apple Time Machine. Now, due to clever marketing, we get to have our own personal cloud which basically defeats the whole concept of cloud computing to begin with. Cut to ignorant C-level types across the globe telling overworked IT infrastructure types, Hey! Are we on The Cloud? We need to Be On The Cloud. Get us A Cloud. /rant
