I dont know how to lead into this, but heres just a few of the thoughts that have crossed my mind over the past few days. I am a firm believer in the Word of God. I am a Believer in Jesus Christ and if that makes me a Christian then I suppose you could call me that as well. But I have to say that the term Christian has become as polluted as any term in modern history. So with that being said, I guess Ill leave that alone for the time being. I suppose I have gone to war with theology. Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. I have come to find that what has been taught by many religious denominations, in comparison to what the scriptures actually say, are biased and twisted to say the least. I have said it before, but I guess I have a problem staying stuck in age old theology, when the Word of God is ever revealing itself. It is alive and ever growing and teaching its Truth to those who will seek it. But I believe that is the problem, very few are seeking it. There is a difference between taking a scripture and quoting it, and actually studying the chapter of words surrounding that scripture, and all the other scriptures that may reference it, and truly understanding the meaning of it in its whole. This is a good part of the problem. Many Christians seem to think the only people who can do this is a preacher, a pope, a minister, teacher, prophet, or whatever the case may be. But that is not what the Bible says. It says we are all to do this. As a matter of fact, it charges us to do this, its not an option. As most have failed to do this, those around us are offered a less than desirable explanation of the Truth. How many of you would trust a doctor who had read a few remedies in a book, and had to go to Web MD when you started asking them questions about what was wrong with you? How much Faith would you then put in the words or actions of that doctor? I for one, would turn the guy in to the authorities wouldnt you? I suppose its a good thing we dont have regulations and laws governing the poor examples and ignorance of people who profess to be Christians, or we would have to build 1000s of new jails. Sorry, but its true. We act like we are the answer for man kinds problems and the lives of those who are lost. But I hate to tell you, we are not. We are only a representation of the answer. But if we truly believed that, why are we not the highest quality physicians we could be, and why are we content with being mediocre part time nurses aids? Im not saying we should all be on a stage preaching, but I am saying we should know the Word of God so well, that when the Great Physician calls upon us to give life support to the wounded, we have the necessary tools in our bags to get the job done, and to get it done with accuracy and preciseness. Not just throwing a couple band aids on a gaping wound. But that is who we have become as Christians. We have preachers who dont study their Bibles except for the purpose to stand on a stage and sound righteous. We have people leading our families and children who are involved in all sorts of trash outside the church. And then we have the people who listen to them going and telling people about Jesus. Are you kidding me? And we wonder why people think were hypocrites and fools. God is not represented by the unbeliever, He is represented by those who believe. So who is responsible for the example people have been given of God and His Christ? If we have done, and are doing such a great job, why is there a continual increase in apostasy? I know you would like to say its because of an increase in wickedness, and that is true. But for there to be an increase in wickedness, there has to be a decrease in righteousness. Darkness is the absence of light. Darkness does not exist of its own, rather it is the absence of a light source. Think about it. If there is an increase in darkness or wickedness, then there has to be a decrease in light or righteousness. By definition, and according to the Word of God. If we are as righteous and right as we claim to be, and we are growing in Christ, it is impossible that there would be an increase in darkness and wickedness. The Word of God said the last days Church would be Lukewarm. So which is it? Are we lukewarm, or are we not in the last days? We cannot be both. We had better wake up Church, before the light is completely extinguished. Heres a couple of verses for you to chew on. 1 John 1: 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 Corinthians 11: But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Mathew 24: 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. People are being lost and left behind and we have no one to blame but ourselves. We have got to make a change.
