I dont know if anyone is interested in hearing about it, but Starr and I recently canceled our cable TV service. With a minimum investment in some equipment (about $100), we are picking up all 9 local channels plus access to over a thousand others-- with no recurring fees. I confess that a good bit of the time I spent watching cable consisted of the zen-like relaxation technique of aimless channel-surfing. The trouble was that of the 100 or so channels I was paying for from Comcast, I counted 25 of them in which I had no interest: shopping channels, religious channels, sports channels, Spanish-language channels. Now I surf only the stuff that interests me, including channels that Comcast didnt provide-- such as Classic Arts Showcase. If enough of my FB friends want to know more, Ill set up a private group with info on how to cut the cord.
