I dont know if anyone notices or cares, but as much as possible, - TopicsExpress

I dont know if anyone notices or cares, but as much as possible, Ill try and play at least a couple of vinyl records in my sets, I try and work with labels to make my vinyl records look special, and I still buy records to play at home with a nice cup of tea. I know its not for everyone, but I really enjoy the feeling of going into a record shop - wherever it is in the world - and instantly being able to meet people who I have at least one thing in common with, and then, by buying a few bits, have the ability to put something tangible back into the industry that Im proud to be a part of. And that small bit of support filters through and helps the shop, the distributor, the label, the mastering engineer, the designer, the producer... For the price of a couple of pints, I plug into that whole food chain, and I get a piece of music on a format that will last, and that will always have the memories of where I purchased it, what my life was like at that time and so on, attached to it. Im lucky that in Bristol, Idle Hands is just opposite my studio - if I need a break, I can pop in, check some tunes, have a chat with whoevers behind the counter and easily keep myself part of the community of Bristol musicians. Anyways, the man behind the shop - and the label - did an interview with Truants recently, which inspired this screed. Also I get a mention in it for mispronouncing one of his labels.
