I dont know if anyone would find this interesting or useful, but I thought I would share it anyway. I sent Brothers Mcleod a question after they gave us a talk: My Message:- Thanks for the talk today at WORC uni was really interesting, especially being someone from the Midlands myself! I really gave myself a kick for not thinking of this in the actual talk but being an animator who is interested in working in a mostly permanent 2 team collaboration such as yourself - do you have any pointers on what to look for in such a situation in regards to the other person? Besides expecting to fall out over things :) Their Reply Hi - sorry it’s taken a while to reply. For us it was easy I suppose because we were brothers, but then a lot of siblings don’t get on. I think our strength beyond our genetics is that (a) we have different skills and strengths - writing vs illustrating (b) we allow the other to do individual projects as well as working together (c) we split everything straight down the middle - sometimes one of us will generate more money, sometimes the other - but we always split it equally - which works because we both work as hard as the other (d) it helps to be friends (e) and of course to admire the work the other produces (f) you have to find a way through moments of disagreement too of course (g) be able to be honest with each other about each other’s work and supply encouragement and constructive criticism.
