I dont know if this is of interest to anyone, but I received this response from the Terence Atkinson mentioned in our handbook when inquiring about birth certificate translation. I thought some of the more detailed information about the timeline and payment might be useful. Hi Molly, I do indeed translate this kind of document. In fact, its my job as a sworn translator at the Court of Appeal in Angers, France. My signature is recognised and accepted anywhere in France (including overseas territories like Martinique). All you have to do is to send me a scan of your document(s) The cost for a birth certificate is €48 plus €4 in handling charges. Ideally, payment would be made through Paypal, so if you agree, please let me know and then wait for my Paypal invoice. Otherwise, you will just need to give me a postal address to which I will send you your sworn translations. The whole thing takes maybe ten days. Your translations will be posted within four days of payment being received. Your personal information is of course totally secure. I keep a copy of the document translated in my archives for five years, before destruction. Looking forward to hearing from you and if my offer sounds OK, dont hesitate to spread the word around your friends who are also coming to France. I would be delighted to do your translations Molly. best Terence
