I dont know if we can fully understand the salvation, the complete deliverance we have in Christ unless we understand the year of Jubilee, which Christ fulfilled and will fulfill again, which was foreshadowed in the law of Moses.... The year of Jubilee was a year being released from debt, released from slavery and servitude... (Lev 25:9-10 NASB) You shall then sound a ram’s horn abroad on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall sound a horn all through your land. 10 You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and ((PROCLAIM A RELEASE)) through the land to ((ALL)) its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. (Lev 25:39-41 NASB) ‘If a countryman of yours becomes so poor with regard to you that he sells himself to you, you shall not subject him to a slave’s service. 40 He shall be with you as a hired man, as if he were a sojourner; he shall serve with you until the year of jubilee. 41 He shall then go out from you, he and his sons with him, and shall go back to his family, that he may return to the property of his forefathers. As you can see the year of Jubilee was not only a year of cancelling debt, but it was also a year of setting free from slavery, release! Jesus has also cancelled our debt of sin by the blood of the cross, and has set us free from the sin by which we have been bound, by which we were enslaved. This is the message of the Kingdom that Christ was preaching the day He began His ministry, which Isaiah prophesied about, which Christ fulfilled and proclaimed... (Luke 4:18-19 NASB) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to ((PROCLAIM RELEASE)) to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To ((SET FREE)) those who are oppressed, 19 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” So as they were on the day of Jubilee we have been set free... (Rom 6:22 NASB) But now having been ((FREED)) from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. (John 8:34-36 NASB) 4 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36 So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. And now we are to go forth and proclaim this very message in word and in action.
