I dont know that there are enough words to describe my time in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Roubin Svenzka was a magnificent host and a sensational producer. The amount of effort put into Adamantium ·Style·Depth·Movement· was unbelievable. Not only is she a consummate professional, but she is one of the most beautifully real, caring and generous human beings I have ever met. Every moment from start to finish, she made sure I was comfortable and feeling welcome. The dance community they have created for themselves in Buenos Aires is incredible. Every dancer I met was so gifted. I had an amazing time sharing the headlining spot with Mariamira Lovich of Santiago, Chile. I think the thing I will remember most about her is the way she laughed. So infectious and full of joy. Sharing the stage at the gala and dancing in the workshops with Elessa Calabria, Long Nu, Luisana Alvarez Ricciotto, Serpent Blue, Énola Staffa, Cele Acuña, Eureka Floyd, Nadia Orfei and many others was nothing less than a privilege. These girls are some of the most passionate, talented, hardworking and bright individuals I have seen in this world. Its truly rare to find. Aside from the dancing, the city was full of life, busy and spontaneous, and the FOOD! THE FOOD. Everyone kept telling me to try the beef (which I did) but honestly, the CHEESE is where its at! If i could have, I would have filled my suitcase with it. The architecture all over was incredible no matter where we went (Buenos Aires, La Boca, Recoleta Cemetary) and everything seems to be an art, even down to the way the people speak. When it came time to leave, I cried. I have never cried so hard over leaving any other place on this planet. And the most special part? The last words between friends before I stepped past security were not words at all. Just a loud, resonant Zaghareet ringing through the bustle and noise of the airport. I am sure I left a part of my heart in Buenos Aires. Forever.
