I dont know what people see in the blue strip of paint. Hailing it a great job and effort by the local authorities. We are moving in the right direction towards a bicycle friendly city. However, more and more cyclists complained that the blue strip of paint has been abused by drivers, time and time again. Yet, they still dont want to call for protected bicycle lane. They still think that a strip of blue paint is a good start or better than nothing. Even worse, they would accept sharing the space on pedestrian walkways!!! Do you want more cyclists to ride bicycle in the city, or do you want more ordinary people to ride a bicycle in the city? If you want the authorities to build infrastructure to cater for existing cyclists, then dont bother. They are already riding a bicycle. I just dont understand the local authorities. Why are they building these substandard and unsafe bicycle infrastructure? Who is their target demographic? Do they even understand the psychology of people they are targeting? They may say one thing, but doing exactly the opposite thing altogether. Thats why I complained a lot about DBKLs effort in building bicycle infrastructure.
