I dont know which way Annie Lennox would vote, or even if she has one. If I did, having been throughout the campaign a narrow Aye-sayer, Id now be - equally narrowly - saying Nay! Because the last few days have shown how Nationalism feeds on stereotypes of the Other and has already begun to show its true colours. Because Id trust Alex Salmond as far as I could throw him, which is not even as far than I could throw Clegg or Cameron - though individually, not in tandem, or Millibanded! And because maybe its time for the Britons - all our many tribes, races and cultures - to come together not fall apart! But maybe thats just me feeling sentimental tonight - like the abusive English husband pleading with his wee bonnie battered wife - in the now familiar SNP caricature. And I dont get to vote on this one. Scotland, its up to you. You decide. Love ya, babes :)
