I dont like when I feel disrespected by a client. This isnt something that happens often, thankfully, but I seem to have a few repeat offenders. I have a particular family that doesnt seem to have any regard for me or my time. They are not regulars, I may see the son once or twice a year and Ive only cut the daughters hair twice. The son is late nearly every time and has failed to show up for appts. twice, including today. The mom ALWAYS texts me last minute for her sons appointment. At first, I was good about fitting him in, but once the bad behavior started, I stopped being so accommodating. This didnt change the behavior. The last time I saw them (last fall) the mother set appointments for both kids and the daughter didnt show up. She decided to not get a cut, but clearly it wasnt important enough to notify me ahead of time. That pissed me off. So Thursday when she texted me, I couldnt see him...well, I chose not to see him and she set up an appt for 12:30 today. By 12:51 he still had not shown up and I took my next client, who was early. More than 45 minutes late, he and his girlfriend come strolling in. I let him know he missed his appt time and I was booked up the rest of the day. He said, yea, sorry. I. Went to the wrong shop. Hmmmm, really? The wrong shop thats 7 minutes away? And you didnt think to call, text or have your mother text me? Im sorry, but that is just inconsiderate! He asked if I could squeeze him in, but I would not and I wont make anymore appts for any of them. My time is more valuable and I shouldnt be disrespected by some entitled teenager! I would be appalled if my children behaved in such a manner.
