I dont live in New York anymore but in my current hometown my favorite bookstore started charging me to do book searches and seemed to see it as a burden. Now, on my computer, I can search for absolutely any book that interests me and order it for a very reasonable price, new or used. Searching for used local books was impossible. Im 411 and couldnt reach more than a third of the shelves. I always wound up paying too much to boot. Now I order what I want and it takes me about 15 minutes and I have saved several hundred dollars in a few years. If local store want to stay in business they must serve their customers interests.
