I dont normally rant but when the subject is about JESUS, I cant help but to do so! I began college last week and decided to take a New Testament course as one of my humanities. Upon entering it, I realized this class is going to be a challenge as it follows a secular world view. This week, we are studying analytical (critical) study and it has made many of the students confused and believe that Jesus was never truly alive because there is no archaeological evidence. Being the person I am, this breaks my heart tremendously to know someone believes this. The book they gave us only tries to disprove this even further by stating, and I quote, The New Testament books are diverse; differences of opinions are common; different and even contradictory reports of the same event are found; not all the historical statements made are historically accurate; words of people (and see here how they do not say Apostles) other than Jesus are attributed to Jesus. All these things disturb Christians who presume divine inspiration would not have brought a diverse and sometimes contradictory New Testament into being. The nonsense in this paragraph has me on edge and disturbs me greatly. So many of my classmates believe in this view. They agree with it, they apply it, they use it. As I have explained the truth, the students seem to have found themselves asking me several questions (Glory to God) with interruptions from the teacher that lead them back to questioning yet again. This process is never ending and I pray the students come to know truth. Whats even worse is that, just the other day, this teacher had me questioning my own belief! I sat here, reading Bible, looking up sermons, praying about everything as this unsure feeling remained. This morning, I awoke after praying and my eyes have been opened once more. Gods people are HIS. God has chosen me and I will forever be His. His word over mans every time and I must continue my race that He has set forth for me. I ask that you pray for these students who are listening to these ridiculous lies and applying it into their lives. I also ask that you pray for me as I continue this race that God has set forth for me. It is a challenging one and my first time being truly challenged with my faith and belief. I refuse to give up. Thank you.
