I dont often comment on popular culture items. Its not my area of strong interest. However, this really got my attention--Robin Thickes recent video release that is from an entire album, apparently, trying to win his estranged wife back. I agree with the author of this attached article. I believe this is totally public stalking behavior. Plus, in the video he includes actual private texts messages shared between him and his estranged wife, Paula. What? It straddles the line, I believe, of public domestic violence too and may in fact have crossed that line. Anyone who has worked in domestic violence knows that emotional violence is the most common form of domestic violence. I watched the video. To my watching there is this whole undertone of Thickes that screams that his estranged wife should not have the power to make her own decisions and instead should cave in to his stalking behavior masquerading as repentence. Some have called Thickes gestures romantic/ Really? I believe this skirts the edges of rape culture.
