I dont read any blogs and so really dont know what they are. I doubt that Ill manage to do it everyday but I am excited to string words together. Its a fairly intimidating thought, free writing for all to see. I mostly get hung up on punctuation and worry that I use it incorrectly. Worry of course is a useless art form in and of itself and should be done away with. Im working on that. Punctuation is like table manners. If youre interested in such things there are actual rules to doing it gracefully, beyond just getting the food into your mouth and meaning across. In both cases, punctuation and table etiquette, I have a few grey areas. I enjoy a certain degree of formality perhaps more these days then in times gone by, because I live in some pretty deep country, where in general, folks are concerned with basic survival and they will manhandle everyday reality to do it, often without ceremony. Theres something grounding in ceremony if its not rigid and being a Pisces gal, I find the additional earth tethering helpful particularly, when dealing with the mundane. In short, Ill look up the rule for semi-colons and will otherwise use the force. As far as I know, Im the first and only yoga teacher in my little rogue Antebellum town. Its been an incredibly satisfying experience getting to come to the mat with folks who are experiencing it for the first time. Like speaking to a very articulate, smart little kid, it reintroduces you to yourself and requires verbalization of things that you hadnt considered verbalizing before. My basic motto is that if you can breath you can do yoga even if you think you cant. I imagine that some of the good stuff from those classes will make it into these posts. For those of you who live between Arkansas and Alabama, north of Jackson, MS and south of Jackson, TN- Ill be at Snack Bar in Oxford, MS with Garry Burnside tomorrow night 9:30 till closing doing an acoustic blues set. This will be a first of its kind. Well do it every second Wednesday of June, July and August. I hope everyone fared well through the weather the last few days- talk about rain .....not sure if any tornadoes touched down but they sure were threatening to. Ray Wiley Hubbard writes some of the best posts Ive come across as does Rodney Crowell. So if I get dull, check them out. Until next time, namaste.
