I dont recall having waited for an Indian Prime Ministers speech in the UN General Assembly. I havent even seen so much of euphoria about it by the Indian Media. Well, what could be the reasons of it? 1. Undoubtedly, the incumbent Indian PM is an accomplished orator. He is capable of connecting with the masses, as well as with the issues dear to their hearts. 2. After Jawaharlal Nehru, we have seen a photogenic PM with great fashion sense. Imagine his creativity when he wore RED jacket while the Indian Space Shuttle entered the orbit of Mars, the red planet. (Honestly, wearing BLUE TURBON on all the occasions didnt make any sense. Look at Navjyot Singh Siddhu!) 3. After a gap of 25 years, there is a govt with full majority. So the world community may be considering the incumbent govt. to be in a position to take decisions - both fast as well as tough! 4. During the last 120-odd days, the Foreign Policy of the incumbent government is seen to be more proactive, aggressive and engaging with the world community, with a desire to assert Indias presence on the bilateral and multilateral forums. May be....!
