I dont remember being this happy in a long time. I just left the Convention Center for the celebration of the Beatles appearance here 50 years ago (August 20th). That was cool enough. What made it even better was who went with me. My best friend in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade was Ramona Hobart. All we did was laugh, dance and laugh some more...all our memories of our time together is full of joy. In fact we were known to, more often than not, pee our pants we were laughing so hard together. Perhaps too much information, but nothing defines a best friend better than that. Because of various circumstances in our lives we didnt see each other again from about 1966 until 1982 when we ran into each other and hung out again for a few months. She came to my wedding that year and as you can see from the photo...we laughed! So when my sweet (Rob) Robert Elliott was kind enough to make sure I was invited to the Beatles celebration, thoughts of Ramona overtook me. I had to find her so we could reminisce since we attended the concert together. I found her, I invited her and we had the best time ever...just like always. I reminded her that before the concert she said, Amy, please lets not scream and embarrass ourselves. And we pledged we wouldnt. When we entered the building the electricity hit us and I think we were screaming before we got to our seats. And, I dont care what anyone says, Ringo turned around and looked right at me. He did! Here is to celebrating the friendships that time cannot diminish. And most of all, here is to celebrating friends who make you laugh so hard you pee your pants!
