I dont remember what the word for this is, but you know that thing where if you hang around a lot of a certain type of people (ex: people who swear a lot, role players, people who speak Spanish, etc etc), eventually you will start to subconsciously mimic their mannerisms? Anyway, this totally happening to me at work. I currently have a large proportion of African American employees. I spend 10 hours a day with my employees. Matt has noticed a change in how I talk and jokingly calls me Ka-Rita. Joking aside, I find this super fascinating. What makes people mimic like this? Leftover survival instinct? A need to belong?
