I dont share personal stories on FB, but this time is different.. As some of you know, my 64 year old brother was admitted to Delray Medical Center three weeks ago with a life threatening sepsis infection coupled with MRSA. He was in ICU on a ventilator for 7 days. It was scary. Thankfully, he is fully recovered and Monday morning was ready for discharge per Drs orders to a rehab facility to help him regain his strength.. BUT he remains in DMC in a private room, on taxpayers money, with his own TV, bathroom, meals, he dresses every day, shaves, talks on his phone. ALL this because he was approved for a cockamanie plan called SHARE OF COST MEDICAID which in Fl is seemingly meaningless. NO FACILITY WILL ACCEPT IT BECAUSE THEY DONT THINK THE STATE WILL REIMBURSE THEM !! No one understands it, no one trusts it, and yet he has a Medicaid card that assures his providers will receive payment. THANK YOU Governor Scott for instituting the worst Medicaid plan in the USA, the only one like it in the country, seconded by his very caring Dr Oko. AND Thank you to my friends for all your support during these past three weeks. Sooo Grateful..
