I dont tend to get very personal on Facebook but Im very agitated and perturbed right now and need opinions. I was married before for a short time and the best thing that came from that marriage was my first born, Nathan. He always lived with me full time and would see his dad on and off as he grew up. I NEVER DENIED MY EX-HUSBAND FROM SEEING HIS SON, REGARDLESS IF CHILD SUPPORT WAS PAID OR NOT. I did not want to be one of those women who says you have to pay to see your son, because it would only hurt Nathan not my ex-husband. I have always provided a home and all the essentials. Ive worked hard and went to school and worked full time. Meanwhile his father lost a few jobs and at the age of 41 still lives with his mother. He doesnt work, doesnt pay child support, doesnt provide Nathan a good role model of a father because his life consists of video games from daylight to dark. My ex-husband received a letter from the child support office that he may go to jail if he doesnt pay. He has put it in my sons head that if your mother doesnt get money, Then shes sending me to jail. He has told my son that Im just making his life hard and I stole his tax income (FYI the state took it for back child support, I had no clue until I got a check in the mail). My son now is being torn between his highly structured home with responsibility and chores (which he gets paid $100/month as allowance) and his mother and brother and the grandmothers small home where his father is luring him with new video game systems and no chores and freedom but food is short, there is no allotted budget which focuses toward Nathan particularly and he doesnt even have his own bedroom. His father told him the only way he wont go to jail is if Nathan goes and lives there. Im livid. I absolutely shut that idea down immediately and told Nathan that wasnt an option. I see what his father is doing but Nathan doesnt. Am I being unfair? Too hard on my son? My ex-husband and I love totally different lifestyle. He likes video games, city life, smoking dope and hes an atheist. I like deer hunting, country living, guns and I pray to god openly every day with my children.
