I dont think Im alone when I say, I do not want to take over the world, or be the richest person in it. I want to live a life of fulfillment. I want to work hard, at something that I am passionate about, in order to make a modest income-a living wage, so I dont have to worry about basic survival. I want to contribute to society, not be a drain on it. I want help my fellow man whenever I can, and not just by donating money to a cause but by getting my hands dirty. There are, however, people who seem to want to take over the world and be the richest people in it. And, as a result of their wants, seem determined to keep me (or anyone else for that matter) from achieving the modest desires of living a comfortable existence in harmony with my fellow man. I can understand a persons drive to succeed, even an ambition to reach extraordinary heights of monetary achievement. I even have a sense of admiration for such driven individuals. I find fault, however, when some of those driven individuals achieve their goals at the expense of other to the degree that they have a total disregard for their well-being and the well-being of society as whole. And, when they rationalize their greed driven actions by deeming those human beings not driven by wealth accumulation unworthy of their concern. The tenets of Free Enterprise should not grant unbridled greed the right to run roughshod over our society. These people must be restrained by law and regulation, their actions channeled for he good of society through taxation. That is not restriction of trade, it is common sense, and for the good of all! To these greed driven individuals, wealth accumulation is the only worthy goal, to the detriment of all else. In their myopia, they do not seem realize that maintaining a healthy society is actually in their best interest as well.
