I dont think Ive officially told Charlies Facebook fans that he was fitted for orthotics and received them about two weeks ago. At first, they seemed to make him a little more clumsy. It was painfully obvious that he was adjusting to the new support and positioning of his feet. However, as time has worn on...the orthotics have made a world of difference! Hes significantly more stable on his feet. His ankles are no longer pronated in stance. Charlie doesnt use the side of his foot to move from sitting to standing anymore; he places his sole on the ground and pushes up which is better for his feet, ankles, knees and hips. And, ironically, with his shoes/orthotics on - he crawls instead of butt scooting! Here he is testing out his new orthotics at the playground. Are all little boys born with the innate desire to climb UP the slide?
