I dont think they taught social concepts like citizenship or government very well in the schools that I attended growing up. In fact School-House Rock taught me more about how our government works better than any teacher Ive had, that covered the subject. Yet my understanding of the government remains limited! Whereas I am sure that the our system of governing has only grown more complex over the years. Ultimately, I can only blame myself, I should have taken the initiative to keep up with the ever evolving process and not have waited to here it sung to me on Saturday mornings.This was my responsibility and I dropped the ball. As citizens we should be involved in the laws that govern our citizenship --- but Im busy, I have shit going on, and watching C-SPAN is like watching paint dry. I want to be kept abreast of the process, but the process is tremendous now and boring. Can I please just be sent citizen related text updates? Or maybe we should really consider bringing back Schoolhouse Rock, but play it during half-time of big games or during the commercials for RHOA.
