I dont understand Italian, but this tutorial of the DM8 Pro electronic drum kit by Alesis from 2011 is one of the best reviews of musical equipment Ive seen in a long time. The guy plays the drums, shows what can be done, and gives a very detailed closeup of the brain of the drum kit. I gotta face it, folks. I need an electronic drum kit if I am going to stay an active drummer in the Dallas area. I cant go practicing on my Rogers kit, and expect to remain friendly with the neighbors at the same time. This electronic kit is exceptionally affordable, it comes with everything I would need to have a full kit, and it would allow me to experiment at the same time. Some of the reviews Ive read on Musicians Friend are hilarious though. One person marked in the CON section with; Some assembly required. Really? If thats your one complaint, then why are you a drummer at all. Acoustic drums themselves require a heck of a lot of assembly, so what were you expecting? Oh, and another complaint I saw was that this person said that they almost got evicted from their apartment for being too loud. Seriously? You never tried to lower the volume? You never tried to plug headphones in so that only YOU hear yourself play? Its really simple, just so all you drummers out there know. Well Ive gotta save money for this kit. Of course I got other priorities to save up for too, but this kit is so affordable I could easily save for it as well. I see this being an Xmas gift for myself. :)
