I dont understand how Comcast can function. Over the years, Ive had so many dealings with them and EVERY TIME, it feels like Im being Punkd. A few months ago, I decided to switch my office phone and internet to Comcast from AT&T. When the Comcast contractor got to my office, he was such a jerk that I told him to leave. Fast forward several months and I try it again. I set an appointment to port my business number over and get the Triple Play with voice, internet and TV in my office, all at a lower cost and faster internet than AT&T. I know going in that the transition may be rough, but Im willing to do it. The very nice Comcast contractor shows up early, after calling to let me know he would be early, and does the basic work in my office before I even get there. Now hes ready to bring it inside my office but I find out he has a new number for me. He has no idea the old number is to be ported and cant do that, so we have to reschedule, which means rescheduling my IT company who is meeting us here to make sure all goes well. He leaves and turns in his call and I get a phone call on my other number from Comcast, telling me to call 1-8--Comcast with this job number reference, so I go through their voice mail hell to finally get a rep who tells me thats not a Comcast job number. I play the voice mail for him and he says hes never seen that kind of number, but puts me on hold. Two minutes later, Im disconnected, after spending a total of 15 minutes on this call. No call back, of course. I guess they just expect me to call their massive incoming call center and keep starting over? You cant make this up. A few years ago, I got a TiVo and needed to put a cable card in it. I called Comcast and they said I have to take it to one of their centers, where they do it there. I went to their center, waited in line and when I got to the front, they told me I had to have a service call at my house to do this. I told them I was instructed to go there and they said, Yea, I wish theyd quit doing that. I went home, called to get the service call and was told to take it to one of the centers. Eventually, we set up an appointment and a few days later, the guy showed up, with no idea why he was there. I told him he was to put in a cable card and he said, I dont have any of those with me. You should just take it to the center and have them do it there. You cant make this stuff up. Once you HAVE Comcast, I really like them, but apparently they have so many customers they make you jump through hoops to get them in the first place.
