I dont understand it .... giving oil companies tax benefits, and the rich .... yet when it comes to the money allocated to schools for prep of books, supplies, and field trips, and any other activity that crops up, including graduation and school sports uniforms ....WE TAX PAYING CITIZENS HAVE TO COME OUT OF OUR POCKETS TO PAY DIRECTLY TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOLS. YET THE SCHOOLS ALSO GET GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES ACROSS USA ... AT AN APPROXIMATE RATE OF $1500 - $2000 PER CHILD FOR SCHOOL EXPENSE EACH YEAR .... BUT THEY NEVER HAVE ANY MONEY FOR THE ABOVE ACTIVITIES AND LONG LIST OF SUPPLIES. Each parent yearly, is burden with an ever-growing list of school supplies ???? I remember back in the day, every school had supply rooms, that paid for and supplied each classroom, with paints, crayons, paper, glue and other supplies needed, without cost to the parents. What happen now that none of this money is allocated for same ... cost has risen but so has the allotment of federal money, and subsidies to the schools. One school bragged about a 9 million profit in Menomonee Falls as per Walker. How do you lay off # of teachers, and yet a school or schools make such a profit???? No one seems to investigate this or care while we continue to pile on money for same. Kids dont have access to computers or special arts classes, etc. ... yet all the teachers/school board have laptop computers. And this new-fangled library system the implemented this month? that seems just as costly, but they find money for that.
