I dont understand this. I moved to NYC in 1995 and that blizzard in January 1996 dumped 20+ inches of snow in Manhattan and more in Brooklyn etc. Being from Wisconsin/Minnesota I thought nothing of it, figured Id go into work at MTV, and took the F into Times Square. There were only a handful of people walking around and it was practically silent. Throughout the day things returned to normal. No travel bans, no mayors yelling about banning food delivery on bikes, buses ran, subways ran where they were underground. Is this because of the internet?
