I dont usually do this sort of thing, but I have no idea how to help these folks and thought maybe YOU could: Eugene is a senior who served his country. This veteran and his wife, Loleta, are facing the real possibility of being out on the street if they cant get some help - help that the government seems to be completely screwing up. It all comes down to this: they are trying to get Eugenes VA Eligibility Certificate and are coming up against a brick wall. A little background: a realtor friend helped Gene and Loleta buy a house a few years back and they used a VA loan. In 2012, they had to short sale their home because Gene had a stroke and lost his job as a bus driver. This couple has been through the ringer and rarely if ever, do they complain. To top it all off, Gene is currently going through radiation treatments because he had cancer. The local VA had requested a NGB 22 form. They got that form but pages 2 and 3 are hard to read. Page one has his “Total Time For Pay Services” as 8 years, 6 months and 10 days, yet they are still not able to get it through the local VA. The lender has requested the certificate through the local VA and then National VA located in Georgia when it was clear that the local VA was not getting it to them on time. The lender requested the certificate as soon as he received the purchase contract. Gene and Loleta will not have a home as of this Thursday (Thanksgiving!) because their lease is up and they cannot afford to pay a month to month lease. If they can get the VA to issue the Eligibility Certificate by tomorrow, they have a chance of being in their home for Thanksgiving. If you can help, please contact their real estate agent, Tricia Brooks at 602-618-3053.
