I dont usually make my opinions public in the forum but the NYPD - TopicsExpress

I dont usually make my opinions public in the forum but the NYPD shootings yesterday really hit home with me. My father, Thomas Daley, was a cop for 22 years in the NYPD and my cousin, Bill Gaydar, is currently on the force. And even though I dont keep in touch with them these days, outside of being FB friends, I have a number of HS/college friends who are currently cops. Every single one of them puts their lives on the line to protect our communities and support their families. When the leader of the greatest city in the world speaks publicly that hes had the talk with his bi-racial son about the dangers of cops and essentially throws the NYPD under the racial bus, then the tragedy yesterday was bound to happen. The blood is on DeBlasios hands and he should not only resign but should publicly apologize to those cops families. He used his son as a pawn is his run for office and tried to use him again here to get the minority community on his side. Its now backfired in the most tragic way possible and he should take responsibility. No matter your political party or your views on Garner/Ferguson/race relations, there is no excuse for anyone to throw the police under a politically-motivated bus. Especially here in New York where so much has been accomplished by New Yorks Finest to make it one of the safest cities in the world. When you publicly tarnish the names of people like my father, cousin, Fitzy Fitz, Tara Cos, Timmy Dillon Jr. and many, many others, no one should stand for that. MLK wouldve chastised you (and wouldve thrown Al Sharpton to the curb long ago) and he wouldve said we should build bridges not fences. With his actions DiBlasio built fences, just like he recently did around Gracie Mansion to keep people from seeing in, and now two cops families have to spend the holidays without their fathers/husbands bc of your irresponsible actions. DISGRACEFUL!!!
