I dont usually post about my movie-watching habits on here because I do so much of it, but I recently watched Crystal Fairy & The Magical Cactus, and I find that its really stuck with me. I was a little taken aback, because its not at all the goofy drug comedy that the title and marketing imply. If anything, it feels like a reportage film in the fashion of Kelly Reichardt or even early Jarmusch. It does a good job of dropping the viewer into the life of a sometimes-likable twenty something bumming around a foreign country. The storytelling is understated, but the film still manages to go in some unexpected and rewarding directions. Its on Netflix now. Give it a watch.
