I dont usually post about these sort of things on Facebook, but as an employee and parent of 3 children in BISD, this is on my heart. This is truly a scary thing. I get that. Life circumstances that seem out of our hands can cripple us to the very core leaving us feeling pretty hopeless. We automatically want to go into fight mode and demand answers and explanations and we want someone to fix it or we just feel completely lost and confused - maybe both. I know this feeling all too well. Facing cancer a couple years ago felt exactly the same way for me. But, I think its even scarier when we allow our fears to make us angry and defensive. When our talk around our children is full of accusations, anger, and blame, we definitely teach them something. PLEASE do not misunderstand me to say its not scary or worrisome. By all means, we should be concerned. And you havent met a really overprotective mama if you havent met me! But, I think about two parents who are sitting at home tonight with a whole lot heavier hearts than mine. I plan to face the coming days praying for healing for those affected, protection for the rest of us, and the assurance that there is so much glory beyond this world! We have so many faithful people in our community...I know God will show up and make His presence known. We need only ask.
