I dont usually post this type of stuff, but I had an incredible experience tonight with CRT. At massage class we covered OPQRST of interviewing, gait analysis, postural analysis and infant massage. One students has been asking if her 3 year old nephew could come in as the model for infant massage, she thought massage would help him. He came with mom and his red spiderman socks. He has a limp on his left side and he walked for class and the limp was visible as his heel hits on the outside with little plantar flexion, more like a stomp when he walks. Mom explained that he has not really spoken words yet and is going to speech therapy for the past month. He has difficulty sleeping and can not skip or run. C section birth, very traumatic. It fit well to role play how well OPQRST works to collect information. I had David stand on the table to show students how quickly and easily to get a postural analysis, left shoulder easily 1.5 inches high. Very tight traps on left side. It was clear as night and day as a rotational torticollis. Mom said she had never noticed before. The class saw it and used peer language to explain to her the difference on the two sides. Two minutes later, after the CRT, I asked David to walk around the room with his aunt, my student. He told her, I do self. Mom looked shocked and explained he doest talk in sentences. He then walked around the room without a limp, swinging little arms with each stride. I had him stand on the table again and I measured his acromium, ears, Illiac Crest and all were perfectly level. The students in class gasped with the shoulder correction because it had been such visible change. There was not a dry eye in the room and there was dead silence. I was unsuccessfully trying not to cry, and was stunned not able to conceptualize it all and David says, Hooray! in response to everyone smiling at him. I am totally convinced I want to be a pediatrician, that CRT helps every child on the planet, and today was a good day!
