I dont usually take to social media when I have a complaint about - TopicsExpress

I dont usually take to social media when I have a complaint about a company, but in this case I dont feel I have any other alternative. My mother is an 86 year old widow who had a stroke almost two years ago, leaving her disabled. She gets around fine in her home, but can no longer drive or walk outside due to her disability. She has plenty of family and friends that visit and take her places. But her one constant contact with the outside world has been her daily Courier-Journal newspaper. She says when you get to her age, you need it for the obituaries. Because it is a service that they offer, we were able to move her paperbox to her side of the street in the hopes that she would regain enough strength and mobility to retrieve the paper herself. In the meantime, my sister stops by daily to get her paper out of the box for her and take it to the house. Beginning over a year ago, we started having issues with missed deliveries, first once every couple of weeks, then maybe once a month. We would call each time and sometimes they would send a replacement right away and sometimes they would credit her account and sometimes nothing happened. This has happened over a dozen times and each time we call, we get a different person who gives you the sympathetic I am so sorry I understand, which fixes it momentarily and then back to the same ol thing. You cant talk to your courier like you used to be able to do when the Binghams owned the paper. They wont even tell us if it the same courier. You cant talk to a supervisor, or if you do it is one who has no authority. I am not even sure where these people are that we are speaking to. All these incidents are documented in my moms account. Well, today may have been the last straw. No paper again when my sister went by. She called the paper and reached someone who told her they could not send a replacement today because there was no one in that area doing deliveries. Wasnt that always the responsibility of the carrier to make sure all their customers got their papers? When my sister threatened litigation, the womans snarky response was over a newpaper? So, now my mom has to decide if she wants to give up the paper or continue to put up with this bulls--t!! I am asking all of my friends and those who know me and my family to repost this. I feel like mom is being discriminated against because we continue to make complaints. This posting may not change anything but I want people to know what type of company the Courier Journal really is. And they wonder why they are losing subscribers.......
