I don’t know how these live performances slipped my attention. - TopicsExpress

I don’t know how these live performances slipped my attention. While I was skimming fans’ posts that as a rule varied from enthusiastic to ecstatic, I asked myself repeatedly ‘How do they know what Deep Six is about?’ When the Deep Six topic was opened, I wondered ‘When did they hear the song?’ I checked Amazon there was no snippet or at least I didn’t find it. Finally I fell in the bathtub or better bathtube and screamed ‘Eureka!!!’ Of course, live performances! I remember myself reading the tracklist for the first time, I tried to drive away one of the most ridiculous thoughts. It said that somehow Deep Six was Johnny Depp related because of the word ‘deep’. I remember that I said to myself ‘Two letters can be more than enough to change the surname attitude so drastically. Pardon me but Johnny Deep lacks weight or has too much depth’. In other words I didn’t have the slightest idea of what the song might be about. Now I see that Deep Six is absolutely irrelevant to Johnny Depp. Anyway how could it be? It’s difficult to have an opinion listening to the live version of the song on youtube. Sonically it strongly reminds me No Reflection at places or I make a mistake. Great guitar parts. I suppose the album has outstanding guitar performance. I don’t know whom we should credit. I suppose Tyler had the main responsibility for anything music related. Since all members of Marilyn Manson are talented, practically everyone could make a catchy contribution. Lyrically Deep Six might have been inspired by the boy whose name I don’t remember. He committed suicide about a year ago. He was so obsessed with taking a perfect selfie that he couldn’t control his disappointment and put an end to his life. It was the most bizarre, the most pointless reason to die. Selfies are today’s craziness but self-love is as old as humanity. Personally I don’t understand the selfie thing. What is so new and exciting about taking a selfie? Since a camera appeared, everyone had numerous pics of himself. Suddenly selfie became a movement, a social phenomenon. And unfortunately the cause of death. It seems that selfie obsession is perfect narcissism fertilizer. After all the problem isn’t Narcissus like individuals but people cultivating narcissism in Narcissuses. The most weird thing is that since ancient times people have been falling in love with beautiful looks whether good looks are their own or good looks are somebody else’s privilege. If somebody is conceited because of his/her looks, then we are talking about the King/Queen of Fools. If the majority of people look at somebody and see exclusively good looks not paying much attention to the rest, then people deserve what they get. They should go and kill themselves if their selfies are not selfish enough and their looks leave much to be desired. If only they had beautiful looks, they would act as Narcissus too.
