I don’t understand why people wait for pit bulls to attack to label them a dangerous dog… Why do people have to keep getting mauled?… When we WAIT to see if the dog is going to bite… someone gets mauled in the process!… Whenever there is serious injury or death… it is almost ALWAYS a PIT BULL!… Sooooooo… Another pit bull mauls and is labeled dangerous… and on… and on… and on… while innocent people and children continue to get mauled… SICKENING! Why is it that people seem to understand that other breeds were bred for certain activities… like sheepdogs were bred to herd, etc… but they can’t grasp the concept that pit bulls were bred to fight… I was reading a story a while back about a family who had a sheepdog who liked to herd the children up in the backyard… sometimes nipping them (not mauling) to get them to go in the direction it wanted… And although it wasn’t hurting the children, they still did not want the behavior and were trying to train it out of the dog… I hope they were successful… but the truth is… even if the dog did go back to it’s natural instinct of herding… it really wasn’t hurting anyone… But when a pit bull acts instinctively and does what it’s bred to do… people… and other people’s pets… are seriously injured… or die!… This is WRONG!
