I doubt the Church will actually show up to protest the Portland TrailBlazers, but it wouldnt surprise me if they did. Listen people, when theists say that the deity they worship actually HATES a person or a behavior, you should believe them. Of course, Im not suggesting one adopt belief in any deity or man-god, Im just saying that it is the religious person that defines their religion. It is ridiculously arrogant to suggest that the haters from Westboro Baptist Church are not real or true Christians. When ANY Muslim or Christian cites threats of painful torment from ancient literature, you can trust that such hatred really does represent their man-gods desires. There are lots of good people who are religious, but there are no good religions. The world view and belief system of ANY person identifying themselves as Christian represents the religion of Christianity. The world view and belief system of ANY person identifying themselves as Muslim represents the religion of Islam. Just because ignorance and cowardice fuels the wickedness of their beliefs, that does not mean their dogmatic hatred isnt supported in objects/books the zealots idolize. This TrailBlazer hatred is simply an Abrahamic religion at work. Its is faith running amuck. It is an understandable result of religion. When a group promotes a willing suspension of rational thought and critical thinking, this is what we get as a society. The Westboro Baptist Church demonstrates the slippery slope of Christianity. It shows us how religion poisons everything in todays world. Sure, the Bible was written by misogynistic morons from the bronze age and is filled with errors and contradictions, but just because one can easily find a lot of verses in their holy text books that refute their doctrines, that doesnt mean their wickedness is not totally justified by their faith in a god. Blazer haters from Bible thumpers. Truly pathetic that its not surprising in the 21st century.
