I dreamed that my mother is giving a lecture at some tiny venue and asks Carl Avitia-Witt and me to come along for moral support. We wait with her in the green room, and when the time comes for her to go out on stage (along with the rest of the first group of presenters - they all go out at once), Carl and I realize that we are in our underwear. Of course. So, I now must pick my way across the stage in nothing but underpants. But Carl doesnt follow me. Its only after I get to a spot in the audience where my buddy Laurie Daugherty turns to me and hisses why? that I realize that Carl isnt there. The first speaker is up on stage doing a demonstration of chair tai chi, and theres Carl, trying to be surreptitious behind her. Because theres nothing stealthier than a large man in underpants against a dark colored curtain. He sits down next to me, and Laurie resumes her conversation about the geese she got. Theyre special geese because when you put them in water, they turn the water to purple dye. Laurie is contemptuous of the new fad of keeping these geese as pets, because theyre bad-tempered, prone to illness and disgusting.
