I ended up selling one of my horses today besides running into town buying another horse water trough. Monarch has been for sale for a while now but I had not found the right home for him so I place my horses like I place dogs. I also give the horse folks free training advice for the life of the horses too. I rarely get any returned on their test drives but I prefer the horses to be in the right homes just like the wieners in correct homes as well. So one of my horse water troughs sprung a leak yesterday which is never fun in winter months and always expensive when that happens. Those horse troughs are spendy which is always annoying too. Just think how much you spend on dog food and dog water dishes then imagine them in horse size. LOL. I will try to repair this leaking trough in warmer months but in the meantime I had to get a new one. GRRRRR. Good thing I sold a horse today, but I do like my horse to be able to drink. I had no choice to upgrade the trough right away. It is nice to have my next summers horse hay money sitting here waiting to buy, buy, buy hay so I can whine all fall how much I hate bucking bales of hay. I like selling a horse to buy the hay too which makes me smile. The rest of the horse deal is just exercise for me. I do not do horses for money and never have. I liked being able to downsize one horse to someone who had time to trail ride or go riding outside on trails. I have zero time for that and think it is boring. I much prefer going in little circles and winning at horse shows or fairs in their little circles. I make jokes about that and tell everyone who asks, They do turn around and got the other direction. PlusIf I win they pay me MONEY. I never win anything or dollars on trail rides a many do not have purse money attached. I do miss the horses when they go to new homes, but I do not get in horses to be retrained and sold to collect them here. I like selling one horse a year here so I can buy my hay for the rest. These horses eat like elephants so good thing I can train horses that other give up on them so I buy real low and sell them higher. ;-) Plus I only have one rump and four others horses to work here so I will miss Monarch but he now has someone who has a lot more time than me. I was not his best home. This gal was already falling in love with Monarchs happy personality and laughing at his antics so I guess he will not be back. He is such a pretty boy and she got a ton of training and I threw in a free horse! Too funny. His last owner was not a horse trainer and wa trying to ruin him so I bought him to get him away from her before she screwed him up. As it was it took two years to get some nice manners when leading and working him on the ground and earning his trust. He turned into quitr a ham and cookie moocher. I had to send a stash of cookies home with her as well which his new mommy really loved. Good bye sweet boy and be as charming for her as you were for me.
