I enjoy Brand as a comedian (despite his flaws), and look forward to seeing (and now, perhaps, heckling) him in December. But the notion that people are taking his politics seriously surprises me... I mean, is there anything in what he says that we havent all already heard from any averagely pretentious, stoned, self-important 20 year-old uni student? Its almost as if Brand has inhaled the brilliant, subtle and intelligent modern parable of Fight Club -- but failed to realise that, for all his undoubted charisma and superficial appeal, Tyler Durden is actually a dangerous lunatic whose proposed revolution is a counter-productive fantasy.
