I enjoyed spending time at the La Plata County Fair yesterday! It is fun to watch all of the kids working so hard to get their animals ready to show! I also appreciated the opportunity to speak to many citizens about my qualifications and experience. With that in mind, a few people have asked if I had a list of my qualifications, so I told them I would post my resume so everyone could read my experience for themselves. I believe a good Sheriff should have a law enforcement background and demonstrated experience working with other community organizations and collaborating to solve community problems. You see, experience is not just a question of the number of years you serve, but what you do with those years that counts! My resume gives a glimpse into the level of leadership and responsibility I have held in positions that are relevant to the community at the local, state, and federal levels. I believe this helps demonstrate that it is not just about experience, but experience that matters!
