I extend my deepest sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives on Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. I was both saddened and disturbed to learn that a number of Western Australians were among the Australians on board the flight. This event will impact deeply on many Western Australians who had family, friends and loved ones on the flight. My thoughts and prayers, as well as those of all Western Australians, are with those grieving today.
