I feel a certain sadness and gratitude every time I harvest a fish or a bird .... or in this case, a deer. But since I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian, I think that perhaps participating in the harvesting of what I eat may have an integrity that surpasses the times that I just blithely pick up a package of meat at the grocery. However, I know that for some, neither of the above options is ..... an option....and I have full respect for those people and that/those positions.
