I feel bad for today’s generation, because nothing these days is - TopicsExpress

I feel bad for today’s generation, because nothing these days is oriented toward family fun. It’s all about greed and money and having what the next person doesn’t. Downtowns everywhere are void of any mom and pop stores. It’s all doctors, attorneys, and banks. People no longer go downtown to shop, they go for colonoscopys or divorces or to make a dpeosit or withdrawl. The change has been subtle, so it doesn’t stand out. But a good place to look to see how things have changed is McDonald’s. What happened to Ronald McDonald, the Hambuglar, the Gobblins, Captain Crook, and Mayor McCheese. And what about the hambuger patch and the talking trash cans? To make matters worse, the golden arches are now a simple yellow line with a gradual curve. I used to go to McDonalds and hear kids playing and laughing. Now it’s all seniors who murmur and elevator music. Anyway, McDonald’s is a perfect reflection of how things have changed. I just think it’s sad how impersonal society is today. It’s on the verge of becoming so impersonal that there’s no one left to think about but our personal selves.
