I feel compelled somehow to offer a few words at this sad and tragic time to my friends in the community of Point Lance. Ive had the privilege of being amongst you for some eighteen years now as the partner of a Point Lance girl. In those years I have seen the best examples of community spirit and family of any place I have been in my 57 years. For all the sadness these last few days have brought you as individuals and as a community you will get through this as you always have...... by being neighbours, by being friends.....by being family. To all residents of one of the most beautiful places on this island in terms of both its scenery and its people I offer you my sympathy and prayers.
