I feel compelled to share this because I feel like so many of my posts are so negative!! And because now that Jonathan and I are small business owners, I have a new appreciation for people doing business locally and for good ole fashioned hometown customer service. So...in an attempt to be positive and thankful, I am sharing!! In May, I had a car wreck. I hit a dumpster. Hard. Not one of those plastic dumpster...one of the two-inch thick metal dumpsters that will be here until the end days. Yeah, one of those. No one was hurt, thank the Lord. However, the same could not be said for my poor, sweet car. She was damaged. Badly. Of course, I have insurance with my family at Mattison Insurance Agency, through Progressive. My little brother, Matthew Mattison, filed the claim (after a little heckling) and within hours I received a call from the kindest insurance adjuster on the face of the earth. Since I purchased my vehicle from Toliver Ford, I decided to let them do the repair work. Tommy Peugh and the Body Shop were amazing!! After a couple of weeks in the shop and a fuel-friendly rental car, I was reunited with my sweetie!! She looked great. However, as the weeks wore on, I began to notice my car pulling to one side, my mom made reference to my tires looking worn and then last week, my tire pressure light lit up. So, I took my car to Discount Wheel and Tire and Mr. McDonald took a look at it for me. When he came back to the counter, I could tell something wasnt good. He informed me that I needed new struts (shocks), alignment, and something else. He said my tires were wearing because of all the other stuff being in poor condition. All I could think about was the fact that Jonathan was going to KILL me!! However, because Mr. McDonald is so terrific at his job and because he cares about his customers, he visited with me until I mentioned that I had had a wreck and that the front right side of my vehicle had been the most heavily damaged. He encouraged me to call the insurance adjuster and reopen my claim. So...today I am thrilled to share that not only is my car getting repaired (again) but I am also getting new tires thanks to my insurance!! It may seem small and trivial to some, but I am so thankful and grateful for the ease of this process and for the kindness everyone has shown me. After all, I hit a stinkin dumpster. :)
