I feel it appropriate to re-post Southside STL Supports - Unity & Safety for Alls Purpose Statement. It is more relevant today than yesterday. Purpose Statement: Southside STL Supports is designed to; --Recognize the terrible event that occurred with the shooting of Michael Brown and show support to the Ferguson community during this trying time. --Organize activities that support, and show support, for Michael Brown’s family and community. --Build unity in our communities by encouraging civil dialog about issues related to police violence. --Allow the diversity of our great city to make us stronger by encouraging love, compassion, and understanding in all our interactions. --Ensure that we have civilian review board of our police department requiring transparency and accountability for all involved, should such a terrible event ever happen again.
