I feel like Im in the middle of a tsunami or something. Had a sensational six weeks in Asia on the Diamond Princess and then flew from Ho Chi Minh city to Taipei to pick up the China Airlines flight via Sydney for Auckland. Arrived in Auckland airport to encounter Alan Watson and Richard Webster. They didnt know I was on the flight, they were there to meet my old buddy Nick Lewin who, unbeknown to me had joined the same flight in Sydney. He was booked in to the Grand Chancellor hotel so I changed my reservation and booked into the same hotel. Nick, Alan, Richard and I had a delightful dinner together and as Nicks flight wasnt until late the next day we had a lengthy breakfast and va whole morning together to catch up. I then moved to a hotel in the city ready to join the Dawn Princess in Auckland the next day. Our first port out of Auckland was Tauranga where I hosted Sean Dougherty, his friend Christine and his brother and sister-in-law. A truly delightful couple from the U.K. It was a fabulous day and then we sailed on down to Napier, Wellington - where I met up and had lunch with Michael Woolf - and then to Akaroa and Dunedin where I disembarked and flew back to Auckland for a couple of days and then on to Sydney to pick up the Sun Princess. Disembark her in Wellington and fly to Dunedin to rejoin the Dawn Princess for a few weeks. I then disembark her in Dunedin and fly back to Auckland to fly to Honolulu to pick up the Ocean Princess w2here I remain until the end of March doing the Hawaii/Tahiti cruises. In no way am I complaining, it is great to be busy, it is all the flying. As Nick Lewin pointed out, he and I are the real road warriors of show business with longevity in the highly competitive cruise market. His first ship was 1969 and mine was 1973!! Cheers all. For those I should have replied to individually, I have been scooting round so much it has not been possible but I will catch up in the next week.
