I feel like a huge burden is lifted. Last week Nathan kept running in from school, saying, oh man I have to pee so bad.. After day two, I started asking him, Why arent you using the bathroom at school?. And thats when he told me that, The classroom bathroom is unlocked and my friends keep walking in.. Nathan is VERY private and the thought of him sitting in school with a full bladder broke my heart. Because that feeling is awful. We told him to use the hallway bathrooms with stalls but he said he wasnt allowed. Classroom rules, he said. So today, while volunteering for his teacher, I advocate for him, saying, Please tell me there is an option for my boy (and I give her the scoop.). And just like that, she ASSURES me that he will be able to leave the class to use the hallway bathroom, or she will personally stand guard for him. I know that might sound silly, but today he came home and rushed to the trampoline instead of the bathroom. And he told me that his teacher guarded the door for him.. And it wasnt until JUST NOW that I even realized the degree that this has been bothering me. Because I feel SO light and free of this concern. Oh, motherhood. Its quite a ride. -A VERY happy mom.
